Editing (probably destroying) Pictures

So this is a picture of my daughter after I ajusted the hue and contrast, and cropped and resized the pixels. I found that this wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but I think that is because we didnt have to add, change, or try to match the colors within individual pixels.
I did notice that the larger the pixel dimmensions were, the more distorted the image became. I also made the mistake of reducing the number of pixels (instead  inches) to 3x2 and the immage dissapeared from my screen all together.
Although I think that this immage looks worse than the origional, I'm positive that my daughter will LOVE it!
